In general, and personally, I choose the 1st Gen., because it was epic, classic, and original in the way of, awesome.

Hmm, for me it's like: Replace Gen. with Top.

Top1 = 1st Gen., Top2 = 2nd Gen. etc.

As much as I love Typhlosion and Feraligatr, I have to vote for Gen 1. Overall, counting all three forms of each starter, Gen 1 was my favorite.

I went with Gen II, but honestly if I could, I would start with Zangoose any day of the week. He is my favorite pokemon, not because of his type, or stats, I just love him as a pokemon.
