I don't think that this new 'Wii U' is really all that exciting. the controller is bigger than the console! The games are okay- I'm glad that they're remaking some of their old games, but the graphics look just as good as the graphics that can be found on the 360 or the PS3, and it's nothing new to the gaming community. I felt like the Nintendo presentation was a big disappointment over all.
I'm excited for some of the new game releases for the 360 (Halo 4, the remake, Prototype 2, and even the new Fable: the Journey game looks like it has potential), although I don't really care for the kinect stuff (I don't have one, so I don't really care. But I might get one so I can try the Journey game from the Fable franchise... probably will borrow my brother's).
The Wii U is more like WiiPad. I'm more interested in the Zelda game that was shown. Microsoft, don't really care about them. Never really liked their games >.>
Sony is something I'm going to go for. Tomb Raider, Sly Cooper, Infamous, Uncharted and the PSV I can get instead of an iPod Touch. That Wipeout game looks amazing and I look forward to the games that are to be released over the while. And personally, I've had better experiences with Playstation ever since I was a little kid so I think I'll throw Nintendo away for a while..
Other than that, I think I'll swap over to Playstation for a while!
It was a massive MEH! Seriously, another year of remakes/sequels/prequels/whateverquels. Sure, they look pretty and are maybe even fun, but god help us all when large developers actually try consider videogames as an art form and therefore push the boundaries with something that hasn't been tried and tested and rehashed and done MILLIONS OF TIMES BEFORE!!!!
New hardware. Sure WiiU (again, a name no one freaking expected) looks pretty and PS Vita makes me drool because it seems to take innovation to a higher level than the 3DS which could've easily done the same if Nintendo weren't suchc cheap bastards.
Then again, I hope that Sony and Nintendo will one day realize that it isn't the hardware that sells the hardware, but the software that sells the hardware. Nintendo is disappointed by the sales of the 3DS. WELL DUH, if all you can give us a cheap ass remakes with no extra content and sub-par games all clouded in 3D which do NOTHING to add to the experience so far.
Same goes for Vita. nifty stuff in it but the games made my jaw started hurting not because of the constant dropping but because of the CONSTANT YAWNING.
seriously, E3 needs to be killed off. Developers waste too much money on a press conference, leaving them no time to do something for the industry. Each developer has their own press event anyway and there are other events like PAX, GDC and gamescom in Europe that do all the stuff E3 does better for the developers, the industry AND the customers. It's a waste of time and money and leaves people in the months between february and June devoid of any gaming news because "it'll be revealed at E3"
Devious Comments
Oh, btw - All DSi Owners: In September Nintendo is releasing a free DSiWare app - something to do with the Legend of Zelda
